Julie Frey has always loved singing, whether it be show tunes at the piano, formal choir performances, late-night karaoke with friends, or serenading the pets. Beginning with piano and church choirs at the age of five, Julie went on to play piano and clarinet in school bands and sing in various choirs through high school. After a long hiatus from singing regularly, she found her way back as a member of the Baltimore Choral Arts Society, and later the Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia. Julie has been singing with the Chestnut Street Singers since 2018.

A graduate of Penn State University and Johns Hopkins University, Julie worked initially in lab research and now has an office job in clinical research start-up. She lives in the ‘burbs with her husband, Nick, and two future songbirds, Claire and Elliott. In her spare time, you can find her knitting, running, watching movies, and dressing up for themed costume nights.
